Loving the life of an online student

Well, I really like being an online student. I can access my account 24 hours a day. I work two jobs. At one job I work during the day 5 days a week and the other job I work 1 day and 3 nights a week. I am a very busy woman as you can tell just by the hours I work . I am also a single mom. Thankfully my son is old enough to sit around and play video games or go out and play with his friends. Basically, he is self entertained. Back to why I love online schooling. On the nights that I work I usually don't get home until about 33o in the morning and I am not ready to go to bed. So, I will log in to my account and read the discussion boards and if Ito do school online because I get to be at home with my son and do my school work at the same time. Now that's what I call multi-tasking. I don't get much time to myself so online schooling is the way I can get a higher education and make everything work out for me. I can't wait to start my new career. It's exciting and scary all at the same time but a good scary. That at least means I am worried about doing a good job when I get there. After this I would like to go to school to become a registered nurse and I hope they have some classes online with program that would be really great!

  1. Hi Susan, that is great that you want to be a nurse. Both of my sisters are and they really love what they do, although it is a very tough job and you will work hard for your money. The great thing about it though is that you will never have a hard time finding a job! I know that you can get the hard classes over with for a nursing career here online, like medical terminology, college algebra, and anatomy physiology, which are all hard classes for the nursing program. I think that they are actually a little bit easier online than the are if you had to go to a class room to take them. A know you will have to do a ton of clinicals for nursing school though which will be like having a third job for you. I'm sure you will manage though, good luck!

  2. Susan, you sure do know how to multi-task between working three jobs (one of which is the hardest being a single mom) and going back to school. I to am working two jobs one full time and one is my own business which I can put in as much time or as little which right now is nice because I do need that flexablity. I have found that taking online classes are easier then trying it the traditional way. I have friends that are doing the same type of major I am but have double the work load. I am not sure if I will use my education but at my age I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and finish hopefully keep my honor status as well. Good luck on your nursing endeavor I know you will do great and would be a wonderful nurse.
